Module 1 · 5 minOur story and missionWhy we exist and who we serve.

Dreamers Wish Foundation began in 2021, started by our founder Godwill Tandoh with his mother, Mama Joe, and some amazing friends from Utah. We believe every child deserves the chance to dream big.

Where we serve

  • Utah: free after-school Robotics, STEM & AI programs for refugee and immigrant youth
  • Ghana: schools and families in Mepe and Dadome, in the Volta Region
  • Kenya: Mijomboni Primary School on the Kilifi coast

Our six programs

Education, Health, Food, Technology, Economic Opportunity, and Arts & Culture. Read about each program.

Module 2 · 5 minHow we workWe serve with communities, not for them.
  • Local leaders lead. Teachers, parents and community leaders tell us what they need. We listen first.
  • Show up and follow through. Kids count on us. If you can't make a shift, tell your lead as early as you can.
  • Ask when unsure. Your role lead and our team are here to help.
  • Every hour counts. We track volunteer hours and results so we can report honestly to families and donors.
Module 3 · 6 minKeeping children safeThe most important module. Please read it carefully.
  • Stay where other adults can see you. Avoid being alone with one child.
  • Use kind words, and keep touch appropriate: high fives, not hugs that a child didn't ask for.
  • Never share your personal phone number or social media with a child.
  • Give gifts and money through the foundation, never to one child directly.
  • If a child tells you they are hurt or unsafe, listen calmly, don't promise to keep it secret, and tell your lead right away.

Volunteers who work with children may be asked to complete a background check.

Module 4 · 4 minPhotos, videos and storiesShare the joy and protect the children.
  • Ask before you take a photo of anyone, and respect a "no".
  • Never post a child's full name, school or location with their photo.
  • Show children with dignity: learning, playing, leading. Never as objects of pity.
  • Send your best photos and videos to our team. We share them through our official channels.

Everyone who serves with us signs our photo and media release.

Module 5 · 5 minCultural respectCome to learn as much as to give.
  • Greet first. Greetings matter in Ghana and Kenya. Take time to say hello before you start work.
  • Dress modestly at schools and in villages: cover shoulders and knees.
  • Use your right hand to give, receive and eat.
  • Be patient. Plans change. Stay flexible and keep a sense of humor.
