Testimonials from changemakers

"Nothing prepares you."

See what past trips built

"Nothing prepares you for the sort of transformation this experience gives you. As a mother, I went there to teach kids, but I ended up walking away with life-changing lessons from the kids."

Sheila C. · Kenya and Ghana trips

"My eyes were opened. Seeing those kids happy despite having nothing really hit me hard. I came away a more grateful man."

Phil B. · Ghana trip

More questions (8)
How long is a trip?

Ten days in Ghana, mixing service with schools and families, cultural visits and nature tours. See the journey.

What will I do?

Teach STEAME and life skills, refurbish classrooms, paint Murals of Hope and lead workshops, side by side with local teachers and students.

How big is the group?

Up to 20 travelers per trip, so everyone gets to know each other and the community.

Will I get help preparing?

Yes. After you register, our training portal covers packing, health, safety, food, clothing and culture, and our team answers your questions.

Who leads the projects?

Local leaders do. Our country directors work with teachers, parents and community leaders, who choose the projects. Is this voluntourism?

Are vaccinations required?

Ghana requires yellow fever vaccination, and we recommend malaria medication. Talk to your doctor and check current CDC guidance.

How long is the flight?

About 17 hours from Utah, usually through New York (JFK).

Can I bring my group?

Yes. Groups of 10 or more get a 10% flight discount from our airline partners. Tell us your group size when you apply.
