A leap of faith: our founding changemakers

Every dream needs someone to believe in it first. For Dreamers Wish Foundation, that was Sheila, Jade, Angie and Michael.

In 2021, my mother, Josephine, and I started Dreamers Wish Foundation with one dream: that every child in her village would get the education she hoped for. We had a big dream and very little else. No track record, no proof that it would work.

Some amazing friends from Utah said yes anyway. They took a leap of faith on children they had never met, in a village many of them had never seen, and helped build Dreamers Wish from the ground up.

Names on the water tank

On the water tank in Dadome, the children's handprints are painted right beside the names of the people who believed in them first. Every day, students walk past that tank and see that people from the other side of the world showed up for them.

Everything that has grown since then started with that first yes: classrooms, computer labs, clean water, dental workshops, Murals of Hope and our robotics classes in Utah.

Thank you

Sheila, Jade, Angie and Michael: thank you for believing before there was anything to believe in but a dream. Mama Joe's dream lives on because you helped carry it.

To everyone who has joined us since: you are part of this story too. And if you're wondering whether you could be the next changemaker, the answer is yes.
