Programs · Why STEAME?

Skills for today. Ready for tomorrow.

STEAME education teaches children to think, create, build and lead. These are the skills that help them succeed in a world that keeps changing.

What is STEAME?

Six subjects. One way of learning.

STEAME stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math and Entrepreneurship. Children learn them together, through hands-on projects, the way real problems are solved.

S

Science

Ask questions, test ideas and learn how the world works.

T

Technology

Use computers, code and AI as tools to create, not just consume.

E

Engineering

Design, build, test and improve, like building and coding a robot.

A

Arts

Imagine, express and design, from murals to dance to poetry.

M

Math

Measure, count, budget and find patterns that solve problems.

E

Entrepreneurship

Turn an idea into something useful, and learn how money and business work.

How it helps children

Learning by doing builds more than knowledge.

  • Problem solving. Children learn to break a big problem into small steps, and to keep trying when something doesn't work.
  • Creativity. There is more than one right answer, so children learn to imagine and invent.
  • Teamwork. Projects are done in teams, so children learn to listen, share roles and lead.
  • Confidence. Holding a robot you built, or a mural you painted, shows a child what they can do.
  • Digital skills. Children become comfortable with computers and new technology.
  • Money skills. Entrepreneurship teaches budgeting, saving and how to earn.

Future-proofing children

The world of work is changing fast.

Technology and AI are changing many jobs. Employers increasingly look for people who can think critically, create, work with technology and keep learning. STEAME builds exactly these skills.

Skills machines can't replace

Creativity, curiosity, teamwork and good judgment matter even more as computers do routine tasks.

Using AI, not fearing it

Children who learn how technology and AI work can use them as tools and shape how they're used.

Creating jobs, not just finding them

Entrepreneurship helps young people start businesses that serve their own communities.

Learning how to learn

Hands-on projects build the habit of figuring things out, a skill for every future job.

Opening doors everywhere

Digital and problem-solving skills are useful in any country, from Salt Lake City to the Volta Region.

Closing the gap

Refugee children and children in rural villages often miss out on these skills. STEAME helps level the field.

Be part of it

Help a child build their future.

Every gift, volunteer hour and partnership puts STEAME learning in more children's hands.
