Why this trip exists
Her dream lives on.
Dreamers Wish Foundation began with Josephine Tandoh, who dreamed of educating the children of her home village, Mepe, in Ghana's Volta Region. Her son Godwill started the foundation with her help, and DWF still serves the schools of Mepe and neighboring Dadome today, including the STEAM and ICT lab at Dadome D.A. Basic School.
That is what makes this trip different. You are not visiting a stranger's project. You are joining a family's promise to its own village, serving beside the teachers, students and families who call it home.

From a past changemaker
"Nothing prepares you."
"Nothing prepares you for the sort of transformation this experience gives you. As a mother, I went there to teach kids, but I ended up walking away with life-changing lessons from the kids."
Sheila is one of twenty changemakers who have served with us in Ghana.

Questions, answered
Ghana 2027, honestly answered.
How much does the Ghana Solidarity Trip 2027 cost?
$2,500 per person in total, all-inclusive except flights. The price includes your $500 registration fee: pay $500 to register and reserve your spot, then a $2,000 balance. The $500 project deposit is due May 1, 2027, and spots must be booked by June 1, 2027.
When is the trip?
July 21 to 31, 2027 in Ghana. The team departs Utah on Tuesday, July 20, 2027 and arrives home on Sunday, August 1, 2027. There are 20 spots.
What will I do in Ghana?
School service projects, empowerment workshops with local students, a Heritage Tour, a food and art tour, and a history excursion to Cape Coast and Elmina, side by side with local teachers, students and families in Mepe and Dadome, Volta Region.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you cancel before the final payment is made, no additional fees are due. After the final payment, the trip is non-refundable; however, it is transferable to another guest on a new booking, traveling on the same tour date. See our trip policies and refund policy.
Can I fundraise my trip?
Yes. Dreamers Wish Foundation does not sponsor travelers, but travelers may fundraise the full amount through DWF's Zeffy fundraiser option. Tell us when you apply and we will set you up.
Do I need experience to join?
No experience is needed. Anyone who wants to serve is welcome: solo travelers, families, students, churches, schools and companies. Our team and local partners guide every project, and pre-trip training is included in your price. Travelers under 18 come with a parent or guardian.
Who leads the trip in Ghana?
Thelma Dzifah Attiso, our Director of Ghana Operations, leads the team on the ground with our in-country Ghana team. Thelma lives in Dadome, where we serve, and was born in Mepe, so you are guided by someone serving her own community.
Can I bring my church, school or company group?
Yes. Groups are welcome, and many changemakers come with a church, school or company team. Tell us your group size when you apply and we will help you plan together.
What do I need before I go?
A valid passport, or time to apply for one (the application form asks, so we can help you plan), and proof of yellow fever vaccination, which Ghana requires for entry. Your visa fees are included in the $2,500 price, and we send a packing list and hold pre-trip training before departure.
