Irene, in her own words

Featured story · Mijomboni Primary, Kenya

This is Irene.

At 14, Irene had never touched a computer. In our STEM lab she learned to type and write simple code, and soon she was helping her classmates.

Today she dreams of becoming an environmental engineer. Press play to hear her thank the people behind her school's refurbished classrooms.

From Dadome DA Basic School, Ghana

"Thank you, changemakers."

The students of Dadome DA Basic School recorded this for everyone who helped build their lab, paint their classrooms and keep them in school. This is who your gift reaches.

Where it all began.

Godwill and his mother, Josephine, started Dreamers Wish Foundation in her hometown of Mepe, with the support of some amazing friends from Utah. We refurbished 5 classrooms, installed art murals, donated school supplies and became lifelong friends with the dreamers.

A special thank-you

To our founding changemakers.

Sheila, Jade, Angie and Michael: before there was a track record, you took a leap of faith and helped build Dreamers Wish from the ground up.

Your names are painted on the water tank in Dadome, beside the children's handprints. Thank you.

In their words

Changemakers, changed.

"Nothing prepares you for the sort of transformation this experience gives you. As a mother, I went there to teach kids, but I ended up walking away with life-changing lessons from the kids."

Sheila C. · Kenya and Ghana trips

"My eyes were opened. Seeing those kids happy despite having nothing really hit me hard. I came away a more grateful man."

Phil B. · Ghana trip

"It was life-changing for us all. The presence of God was truly in every experience, and I'm beyond grateful to have been a part of this experience."

Michelle P. · Ghana trip

"Humility… This trip has given me new insight into myself. Still processing this."
