STEM volunteer in Kenya.

Join our team on Kenya's Kilifi Coast — running STEM workshops, improving classrooms and helping wire a rural school for the digital age.

Where you'll serve

Mijomboni, Kilifi Coast.

On Kenya's beautiful Kilifi Coast, near Watamu, sits Mijomboni Primary School — where Dreamers Wish Foundation volunteers have painted classrooms, built desks and run dental hygiene workshops.

As a STEM volunteer in Kenya, you'll help take the next step: hands-on science and technology workshops for students, support for the school's growing computer lab (Starlink internet planned), and classroom improvement projects built with — not for — the community.

Kenya trips run separately from our Ghana departures, with their own dates and team. RSVP on the trips page and you'll hear the Kenya dates first.

What Kenya volunteers do

  • STEM workshops — science demos, coding basics, math games
  • Classroom projects — painting, repairs, desks, murals of hope
  • Tech lab support — computers, Starlink setup, digital skills
  • Health workshops — hygiene and dental care alongside local partners

Dreamers Wish Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 87-1835814) with Candid's Platinum Seal of Transparency.

Why Kenya needs STEM volunteers

Bright students. Few resources.

Crowded classrooms

Rural coastal schools stretch every shilling. Volunteers help refurbish rooms, build desks and create learning spaces that invite kids in.

The digital gap

Most students have never used a computer. Our lab — and the Starlink connection coming to it — opens a door most have only heard about.

Teachers doing it all

Local educators carry huge classes with heart. An extra pair of trained hands in a workshop changes what a school day can hold.

Questions, answered

Kenya, honestly answered.

When is the next Kenya volunteer trip?

Kenya trip dates are announced separately from Ghana. RSVP on the trips page and we'll email you the moment dates open — RSVP holders hear first.

What will I do as a STEM volunteer in Kenya?

STEM workshops (science demos, coding basics, math games), classroom improvement projects, support for the school computer lab, and health workshops — all planned with local teachers and leaders.

Do I need teaching experience?

No. You'll get orientation and lesson support, and you'll always co-teach with local educators. Patience and respect matter more than credentials.

Is it safe to volunteer in Kenya?

Yes. Our Kenya country team arranges transport, lodging and daily schedules, and trip leaders stay with the group. The Kilifi Coast and Watamu area is a well-traveled, welcoming region.

How is this different from the Ghana trip?

Same heart, different place. Ghana 2027 (July 21–31) focuses on robotics and the Volta Region schools; Kenya focuses on Mijomboni's classrooms, tech lab and health workshops on the coast. Many changemakers do both. Compare the Africa programs.

Kenya is waiting.
