02 · Cost

$2,500, all-inclusive except flights.

A $500 registration saves your seat. The $2,000 balance is due by the date in your trip packet. Apply by May 1, 2027.

Ten days in Ghana.

04 · Health & travel

Get ready, step by step.

PassportValid for at least 6 months after you return.
VisaYou apply online, and we guide you. Visa fees are included.
VaccinesGhana requires a yellow fever vaccination. Malaria medication is recommended. See your doctor and check current CDC guidance.
FlightsAbout 17 hours from Utah, usually through New York (JFK). You book your own flight to Accra.
InsuranceWe strongly recommend travel and medical insurance.
SafetyOur country directors plan transport, lodging and schedules, and trip leaders are with you every day.

Be a great guest.

Ghana is famous for its warm welcome. A few habits go a long way.

Greet firstSay hello before you ask a question. Greetings matter in Ghana.
Use your right handTo greet, give, receive or eat.
Protect the kidsFollow our child safety guidelines. Ask before taking photos, and never post a child's name.
Follow local leadersTeachers, parents and community leaders choose the projects. We follow their lead.

English is Ghana's official language, and many people in the Volta Region also speak Ewe. The local money is the Ghana cedi (GH₵).

Full trip policies
Can I get a refund?

Trip payments, including the $500 registration, are not refundable. Soon after you pay, we send the funds to our team in Ghana to book local vendors. Please be sure before you pay. Refund policy

Can I change my plans?

Yes, with no change fees. Transfer your seat to another traveler, or move to a future trip if space allows.

Where will I stay and eat?

In hotels and Airbnb stays chosen by our in-country team. All meals are included, and we'll do our best to meet dietary needs.

What's expected of me on the trip?

Respect local laws and culture, follow our child safety guidelines and your trip leaders, keep alcohol moderate, and never accept pay for volunteer work.

Will photos of me be shared?

Photos and video of you on the trip may be used to share our work. You'll also receive professional photos and video of your trip.
