STEM mission trips to Africa.

The complete guide to joining a Dreamers Wish Foundation STEM mission trip — where we go, what you'll do, what it costs and how to join the team.

Why a STEM mission trip

Not voluntourism. A classroom.

Most mission trips build things. Ours also teaches kids to build — robots, code, experiments and the confidence that comes with all three.

A Dreamers Wish Foundation STEM mission trip puts you inside real classrooms in Ghana and Kenya, teaching robotics and hands-on science with local educators. You'll also roll up your sleeves on the physical work — painting classrooms, building desks, creating murals of hope — because the learning environment is part of the lesson.

Our rule, on every trip: local leaders lead, communities own the work, and changemakers come ready to listen, learn and serve. You'll leave different than you arrived — we promise you that.

Questions, answered

Mission trips, honestly answered.

How much does a STEM mission trip to Africa cost?

Ghana 2027 is $2,000 per person for 11 days, all-inclusive except flights, with a $500 deposit to hold your spot. You book your own international flight (about 17 hours from Utah, usually through New York).

Do I need to be a teacher or engineer?

No. You'll get orientation, lesson plans and the partnership of local teachers. See what teaching robotics looks like.

Is it safe?

Yes. Our in-country teams plan transport, lodging and schedules, and trip leaders are with you daily. We also publish health & travel guidance covering visas, vaccines and insurance.

Can I fundraise my trip cost?

Yes — DWF doesn't sponsor travelers, but you can use our Zeffy fundraiser option to raise the whole amount yourself. Many changemakers cover their full cost this way.

What's the difference between Ghana and Kenya trips?

Ghana 2027 (July 21–31) centers on robotics and STEM in the Volta Region. Kenya trips center on Mijomboni's classrooms, tech lab and health workshops on the Kilifi Coast, with dates announced separately.
